Double-sided nail-sealing tape

TESCON NAIDECK

Advantages

  • Very good sealing effect: sealing material is pulled into the hole created when a nail or screw is fitted
  • Conforms to regulations: satisfies the requirements of the German ZVDH trade association and of the Swiss SIA 232/1 standard
  • Reliable during the construction phase: suitable as a temporary covering during the construction period

Areas of application

Nail-sealing tape for use underneath counter battens for pitched roof structures. The use of nail-sealing tapes in combination with “underlay membranes with seam and perforation protection” (SOLITEX connect variants) is a required additional measure in the case of “more demanding requirements” (e.g. if the roof pitch is less than the standard roof pitch), according to the Central Association of the German Roofing Trade (ZVDH). If required, TESCON NAIDECK also serves as a suitable additional measure when creating a temporary covering.

Installation instructions

General conditions

Perforation seals and water-resistant adhesive joints will only be effective on roofing underlay membranes that have been installed with no folds or creases. Install TESCON NAIDECK continuously between the counter battens and the roofing underlay membrane. This will ensure that any perforations that are created when the roof battens are being fastened will also be sealed. This tape can be stuck onto the counter batten or the substrate that is to be sealed. Rub the tape firmly to secure the adhesive bond. Daytime and nighttime temperatures must be >5 °C / >41 °F when working with this product.

Substrate

Clean subsurfaces before applying tape. Adhesion to frozen surfaces is not possible. There must be no water-repellent substances (e.g. grease or silicone) on surfaces to be bonded. Subsurfaces must be sufficiently dry and stable.

Lasting nail-tightness is achieved on all pro clima exterior membranes and other underlay and breather (WRB) membranes (e.g. those made of PP and PET) as well as MDF board and wood-fibre sub-roof panels.

The best results in terms of structural stability are achieved on high-quality subsurfaces. It is your responsibility to check the suitability of the subsurface; adhesion tests are recommended in certain cases. Pre-treatment with TESCON PRIMER is recommended in the case of subsurfaces with insufficient stability.
